Large-scale Fusion Machines

TracStar 900i

The next generation of TracStar machines offers the industry a sophisticated, rugged, and productive fusion machine. Numerous improvements have advanced the level of technology available while simultaneously hardening that technology to make the entire fusion experience more reliable.

The TracStar Series features new emissions-i compliant engines, a CAN bus control system, along with numerous hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical upgrades. Integrated, software-controlled machine options from manual to fully automatic improves operator consistency and adherence to standards

TracStar 618

The TracStar 618 Series 2 has been completely redesigned based on feedback that came directly from the field. The new machine now shares a common vehicle with the 28, 250, and 412 range of TracStars and is powered by a powerful diesel engine – which is especially useful on jobsites where gasoline is not permitted.
Designed to butt fuse pipe sizes from 6” IPS to 18” OD (180mm to 450mm), the TracStar 618 Series 2 offers a self-contained, self-propelled, track-mounted vehicle that can handle grades up to 30 percent.
A new cowling design aids in heat dissipation while providing easier access when machine maintenance is required. An updated electrical system increases the circuit protection and a standard battery disconnect is now incorporated for easy lockout.
The TracStar 618 Series 2 fusion machines incorporate an interchangeable 4-jaw carriage that can be easily removed for in-ditch fusions. For tight installations, the outer fixed jaw and skid can be removed from the carriage converting it to a 3-jaw carriage for an even more compact fusion unit.

TracStar 412

The TracStar 412 Series 2 has been completely redesigned based on feedback that came directly from the field. The new machine now shares a common vehicle with the 28, 250, and 618 range of TracStars and is powered by a powerful diesel engine – which is especially useful on jobsites where gasoline is not permitted.
Designed to butt fuse pipe sizes from 4" IPS to 12" DIPS (110mm to 340mm), the TracStar 412 Series 2 offers a self-contained, self-propelled, track-mounted vehicle that can handle grades up to 30 percent.

Small-scale Fusion Machines

Pit-Bull 28

The Pit Bull 28 will butt fuse pipe sizes from 2” IPS to 8” DIPS (63mm to 225mm). For tight installations, in-ditch fusions or to fuse tees, ells, adapters and fittings, it can be converted from a 4-jaw to a 3-jaw carriage for an even more compact fusion unit. It includes a lightweight heater that is designed with a 45-degree handle to prevent overheating. A Centerline Guidance System delivers equal distribution of force around the diameter of the pipe to produce an even, continuous bead formation and quality joint. High- and low-force cylinder options are available. A Pit Bull 28 Combination Unit (CU) is also available for sidewall fusion.

Pit-Bull 14

For a compact, lightweight, rugged and reliable fusion machine for 1” IPS to 4” DIPS (32mm to 110mm) pipe, look no further than the Pit Bull 14. This hand-operated fusion machine incorporates McElroy’s patented Centerline Guidance System and is designed to butt fuse tees, ells, and other fittings with consistent and high-quality results. Its reversible jaws, clamp knobs, levers, and facer allow the operator to fuse from either side of the machine while a semi-automatic locking mechanism maintains force during the cooling cycle. For even more convenience, add the optional four-wheel cart with outrigger pipe supports or a manual fusion machine stand that raises the machine to a comfortable working level.

DynaMc 412

The DynaMc 412 EP (Electric Pump) fuses pipe from 4” IPS to 12” DIPS (110mm to 340mm). It is powered by the EP1500AD Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU), which is a common HPU for a variety of DynaMc EP fusion machines. The HPU uses a hydraulic accumulator to maintain fusion pressures and reduce power consumption. The manual carriage manifold of the DynaMc 412 EP is powerful enough to tackle thick-walled pipe and is paired with a strong electric facer that can be loaded from either side of the carriage.

Accessories

Low-Profile Pipe Roller

McElroy’s Low Profile Rollers are a modular pipe roller designed to make pulling 4”IPS — 18” IPS (100mm — 450mm) diameter thermoplastic pipe easier and to minimize drag on the pipe. Perfectly paired with other McElroy productivity enhancing tools, such as the PolyHorse , the rollers are tip-resistant, allow for curved pulls of pipe over considerable distances and provide no resistance to external fusion joint beads moving across the roller.

MegaMc Pipe Roller

McElroy’s MegaMc Rollers are productivity tools that keep pipe off the ground as it is being fused and pulled along the right of way. Two sizes of rollers are available for 12” IPS through 54” OD or 900mm through 2000mm pipe. McElroy designed the MegaMc Rollers to be tip resistant while handling loads up to their capacity. The rollers can be paired with other productivity tools on a job site, including the MegaMc PolyHorse and MegaMc Pipe Stands in order to boost jobsite workflow. The pipe and pipe joints roll through the rollers easily. By keeping the pipe off the ground, the pipe is protected from the damage of being pulled, as well as excessive pulling forces. The Large Diameter Low Profile Rollers are stackable, with the ability to transport 52 rollers on a flatbed semi trailer.

Polyhorse

The McElroy PolyHorse is a pipe-handling system that consists of a series of adjustable racks to store and help install pipe on the jobsite. For use with polyethylene pipe sizes from 3” to 20”, the PolyHorse can reduce labor expenses by providing an efficient, less hazardous work environment for handling pipe bundles and enhance jobsite productivity. Pipe is off-loaded from the delivery truck directly onto the PolyHorse, off the ground and out of the way until needed. In use, the operator rolls the pipe down the rack and onto the integral pipe rollers where it is easily loaded into a McElroy fusion machine. This eliminates the costs for additional lifting equipment and manpower on site. For even more productivity, the PolyHorse can be ordered with the special PowerAssist attachment. The PolyHorse with PowerAssist features a hydraulically powered roller placed closest to the fusion machine that helps load pipe up, down and into the fusion machine. The PolyHorse can be used with McElroy 14, 26, 28, 250, 412, 618 and 500 fusion machines for more productivite jobsites.

Datalogger

Capture the most important data from your fusion jobsite–no matter how long the workday. The DataLogger 7 delivers increased battery life, automatic data backup, an updated Android operating system and more in a new, IP68- rated and MIL-STD-810 tested, rugged touchscreen tablet. The DataLogger software helps to ensure that every joint was fused with the correct pressure and times according to supported standards by recording key parameters of the fusion process. Document heat soak times, heating pressure, open/close times, fusion time, fusion pressure, cool time along with jobsite details and operator information. A real-time graph gives immediate visual feedback regarding the integrity of each fusion joint. Joint records can be securely stored and analyzed online in the McElroy Vault - allowing quick and easy sorting, tagging and sharing of joint records by machine, joint, operator, device or job.
